I guess you mean 2.2.0-beta. Have you tried to specify the path to your
Qt installation explicitly (e.g. "QTDIR=/path/to/qt ./configure")?
Can you send me your config.log file? It should contain further
information about what exactly failed. Sometimes the error messages are
misleading.
