Hi Marc,

I'm the maintainer of cumulus and we have never dealing with the Mio
C230. ATM cumulus is only runable on Linux OS and the current hardware
devices are the Nokia Internet tablets N800/N810 by using the Qt 4.x C++
Class library from Trolltech. Qt will also support Windows Mobil in
future Releases But I don't know the current state. From my point of
view a Windows port is not so easy to realize, if you don't have a
deeper knowledge about Qt and Cumulus. And it needs some time to do the
portage. Therefore I would discourage you to do it.

Greetings Axel

| Hello. I just found your site. What a great project! I'm not into
| soaring (yet) but I am working towards my private pilot license, in
| the Montreal area (Canada). So I'm interested in getting a GPS for
| general aviation. The Garmin aviation GPS's are out of my price
| range, so I'm thinking of getting a Mio C230 ($150 here in Canada) and
| hacking it to run Cumulus (hacking instructions can be found here:
http://www.kombitz.com/2007/10/31/how-to-unlock-mio-c230/)
| . Apparently the C230 runs a version of Windows, and can probably run
| QT.
|
| So here are my questions:
|
| 1) has anyone tried something like this?
| 2) do you see any obvious problems I might encounter?
|
| Marc
