Airspace data
KFLog and Cumulus supports only the OpenAir file format for airspace structures but we do not provide such files here in the map room. Please search in the Internet for files of the region where you do fly. Adresses where you can find information maybe:
- Worldwide Soaring Turnpoint Exchange Airspace
- DE Airspace Data of Germany published by the DAeC
- SE Airspace Data of Sweden
Just download the files you need and copy them into $KDEDIR/share/apps/kflog/mapdata/airspace/ or to your selected airspace directory. For Cumulus please have a look into the online help to find the right install location.
Airport, Airfield and Outlanding data
KFLog and Cumulus use the Welt2000 file, created and maintained by Michael Meier called Milomei (Hamburg, Germany), to get information about airports, airfields and outlanding points. The Welt2000 file can be downloaded from here.
Just download the file and copy it into $KDEDIR/apps/kflog/mapdata/airfields/ or to your selected airspace directory. For Cumulus please have a look into the online help to find the right install location.
Michael Meier died on the 7th January 2008 aged 71 following severe illness. But his work is continued by these two guys.
There is one request from us. If you make necessary corrections on the data of the Welt2000 file, please report all your changes to the guys, who do maintain the source. Their email address is to find in the header part of the Welt2000 file or at this web page. We all should help to keep up to date the Welt2000 source and thanks the guys who do this work.
